Dear Editor,

Anyone who has watched the players participating in the March basketball tournament will be able to appreciate the incredible effort and passion that these youngsters and their commitment to the instructions from their instructors.

The first thing that crosses my mind is, why don’t we get the same passion and commitment from our leaders in government and politics in the present?

Here’s what we ought to see from our candidates and the leaders of each of the 3 branches of the government. The first is an constant and consistent effort to bring people closer and reach agreement. The second is that there must be an a huge effort to research and promote policies that are practical. Thirdly, there should be massive effort put into government in accordance with the basic rules that are in the American Constitution.

These aren’t happening in the present. We must elect the long-term leaders who are sedentary, and train new ones who are committed to working hard and intelligently.
