Anniston, AL –Per the City of Anniston in their P lease keep an eye out for three (3) streets that will be closed this Saturday 1st July 2023, in connection with things happening in the downtown area:
(1) On Saturday 1st of July, streets surrounding Zinn Park will close for Main Street Anniston’s Model City Jubilee event. The streets that will be closed are according to the following: West 13th Street to Gurnee Avenue, West 14th Street to Moore Avenue, and Moore Avenue from Moore Avenue to West 13th Street. The closures will begin around 5:30 a.m. on 07/01/23. Streets will be reopened at 2:30 pm.
(2) On Saturday 1st of June, West 11th Street which runs from the intersections it shares with Gurnee Avenue to its intersection with Moore Avenue, will be closed to traffic during this Saturday’s Anniston Downtown Market from approximately 6:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Be aware that this closure could recur on subsequent Saturdays during the Anniston Downtown Market. So, please be aware of this closing every Saturday through the closing of the market in the Fall.
(3) On the 1st of June, Noble Street, from its intersection with 12th Street to its intersection with 13th Street, will be closed to attend an event organized by SRV Guitars (1211 Noble St, Anniston, AL 36201). The street will be shut down at 10:00 am and resume at 7:00 pm.
Also, keep in mind that improvements to the crosswalk are currently being implemented near the junction at 11th Street and Noble Street. The work is almost completed, but residents are advised to expect the closing to last until the beginning of the month of the month of July (estimated to be completed on July 3rd) because of slight delays on the project.
