Jorda Crook sat at the top of the podium twice during the state championships at Cullman and came in second place result to go along with three first-place places during the Calhoun County meet. She was named East Alabama Sports ‘ Today’s selection for the girls Calhoun County All-Calhoun County athletics champion in 2023. As as a senior, she was the 1A-3A team player at the time in volleyball as well as basketball for girls. She signed up to play volleyball at UAB. (Submitted photo)


Its Oxford’s Landon Delozier repeats as the All-Calhoun County coach of the year in girls track after Oxford’s girls won the county’s second straight championship. The sprinter Keziah Mickler, and distance-runner Katie Keur each won three races at the county. Chaci Whitfield took home two medals with a second-place finish and she went on finish fourth at the state heptathlon. Delozier also coaches Oxford’s boys who have been crowned county champions for six consecutive championships. (File photo)
