Anniston, AL –Excitement is at hand when Anniston, Alabama’s Cheaha Mushing Club is preparing for this year’s Alabama Dryland Dawg Derby on the 13th and 14th of January 2024 located at OneWorld Pet Resort located at 315 Rucker Street, Anniston, Alabama. The event is expected to last for two days of adrenaline-filled sled dog racing attracting mushers and fans from across the state.
The prestigious race, which is recognized by the International Federation of Sleddog Sports (IFSS) and certified through the International Sled Dog Racing Association (ISDRA) promises an exciting experience for everyone who attends. The prize money for the race is yet to be revealed, adding a sense of excitement to the already exciting race.
Fans of racing will see racers from all over the world, performing their best and displaying their speed on the course. This race will be open to any class that include 6 dog rig (6DR) and four-dog rig (4DR) 2-dog bikejor (2DB) 2 dog skijor (2DS) and musher cart (MC) along with wheeled (WC) in the 2.5-mile course. In addition the junior class (JC) 1 dog bikejor (1DB) 1 dog skijor (1DS) as well as the junior wheeled (JW) will race the 1.5-mile course.
For those who want to watch the excitement, the races start off at 8:15 a.m. each Sunday and Saturday, however, the time of start is subject to alter based on the conditions.
To make sure that the race is a successful and informative event the mandatory driver’s Update meeting has been scheduled on Saturday, at 7:45 a.m. on the race website. A video of the driver’s meeting will be uploaded to Cheaha Mushing Club’s Facebook page. Cheaha Mushing Club Facebook page and will emphasize that it is important to watch it for all race participants.
Entry for entries for the Alabama Dryland Dawg Derby close on December 31 2023 at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. It’s important to know that late entries and modifications are accepted after that point. The bib draw, which will determine timings for the start of the draw will take place on January 8 2024.
