Anniston, AL –Per the Anniston Police Investigative Division on the 24th of June 2023 at around 10:00 am, police from Anniston Police Department at approximately 10:00 am, officers of the Anniston Police Department responded to the 1000 block of South Christine Avenue in reference to a shooting incident that took place. They arrived and found the victim lying on the floor of the house. It was determined that the victim is Joshua Andrew Arnold W/M, from Anniston, Alabama. The victim was taken into Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center and later transferred into Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. As of the date of this release, the patient was in critical condition.
A suspect was brought into custody on the spot. He was identified by Tristan Clay Arnold W/M, from Panama City, Florida. Investigators talked to the suspect who said he was one of his cousins who was the victim’s. He was at Anniston to visit relatives.
It is believed that the suspect and the victim were involved in an altercation that resulted in the shooting. The suspect was put under arrest on suspicion of Assault 1st Degree and taken to Calhoun County Jail. A bond hasn’t yet been established. The investigation is ongoing. Additional information is not publicly available at the moment.
It was a minor incident and there isn’t any risk to the community.
