Calhoun County (AL) – The Calhoun County 911 board has announced the official launch of the network microwave upgrade. Here’s the complete statement:
“Today is an important occasion for Calhoun County 911, and all the first responders in Calhoun County 911 .
This project was made possible by the financial cooperation of all the Cities, JSU, and Calhoun County Commission. We accepted delivery of new microwave antenna dishes that could be placed up to 300 feet high on our existing public safety towers. This is the first step in upgrading the network microwave system to support our mission-critical 700-800 Mhz Public Safety Communications System. The microwave network connects all towers and provides emergency communications that are continuous, two-way, portable and mobile for all first responders.Calhoun County’s elected and appointed officials work together to ensure safety and health. This allows us to provide cutting-edge technology that saves lives to the citizens.
