Being lost in the lyrics has been an integral aspect of my life since the first time I was exposed to it. I grew up with Alanis Morrisette, The Eagles, Coolio, Eminem, Lila McCain, and of obviously, the Backstreet Boys. Music can create emotions, spark change, and even bring people to one another. Although life doesn’t always come with sunshine and roses, the feeling of drifting away to a tune can be a great substitute for it. There are many various established artists however, the importance of emerging artists is not overstated.
I’ve had the privilege to talk to a promising artist and feel the impact of not just the tribulations as well as the joys. I began listening to this guy only because I wasn’t happy with his girlfriend at the time. But, we have become friends and have a chat nearly every day. Sometimes, I’d like to express my gratitude for her having been a foe, because if she weren’t, I wouldn’t have discovered this artist. In the beginning, I had planned to write this blog about different artists who are emerging and then feature the one I’m about talk about. Patrick Smith Music has something new to offer everyone, both artistically and lyrically. His voice is different from what I’ve heard in quite a long time. I believe that he is trying to fit in with the genre of country however if you listen to his voice, he’s got the chance to be a part of to be in nearly any genre that the artist would like to. One of the things I love about his work as an artist is that He isn’t a fake for his followers. Many who work in these kinds of businesses try to remain at the forefront of the latest nonsense. Patrick is not. He is a person who remains the same and strives to do this. The reality that he hasn’t hit the heights as of yet, boggles my mind.
If I inquired of Patrick what prompted him to pursue a musical career, he responded “I was a child and watched my mom playing the piano in church when I was a kid.” The simple reason that his mom is his main inspiration should suffice to convince yall to give the young man a chance to listen. He’s a person who’ll be able to pass on an ancestry and shape how music is shaped.
After getting to get to know Patrick more about his journey as a performer I fell in admiration of his musical journey. I asked him about his approach to criticism since I’m sure it’s something that happens in his job. He responded, ” I handle criticism with the same ease as a child most often, however occasionally I’m able to let my pride go and use criticism to my advantage.” The answer can’t be more direct and honest than that. I’ve noticed that honesty in this type of business is not commonplace. I’m almost certain that If I asked any other musician in the process of forming how they deal with criticism they’d be able to answer in the form of ” I handle it like a pro“. I’m sure Patrick is a dedicated worker I’ve seen it all over his social media accounts and his wife’s as well. While watching their videos, looking at their photos and reading their blog articles, it is easy to see that his wife Macey as well as their sons, four of whom are over the moon happy for this man. I’ve yet to get to ask his job for a living. I can tell from his hands on his pictures that the man is a hard worker. I’m sure he makes is always joking about his wife being the one to become his sugar mommy however, I believe that he can make it happen by his talents and secure the house by the river with lots of land and a high-end bass boat parked in the driveway. Then they will be one another’s sugar children.
When asked what that he’d like his fans be aware of that they may not have before, he stated “I would like them to be aware of how much I value them! It’s incredible to see people from my town drive 3-4 hours to show their support and spend their hard-earned dollars. I had to inquire which his personal record was and I wound in hurting my own feelings. 13.6 pounds and 10.3 pounds are his personal bests. I’m not going to share the words I used to respond since I’m not a good athlete and that certainly was not an “congratulations”.

Although That Girl is his favorite song he composed however, it’s not his top song to sing. Don’t be sucked into the middle of that one also, he’s got a solid reasons to support it. When I asked him which song was his top choice to perform, the singer said “My preferred song to sing is certainly Miami My Amy, a Keith Whitley song. It was a tune my grandmother would always want for me to sing and was also the last one she heard before her passing.” Please excuse me as I listen to him sing it, while tearing at my own eyes…

That inspired me to ask him what he would advise his kids to do if they wanted to take up music as a profession What would his advice to them be “Find the kind of group of men who you like being around Write, write and and write. Even if your writing isn’t great write on it. Learning to write early will be extremely beneficial.” He said. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to watch him play alongside any of his kids later on? But, I believe the kids are likely to succeed in the MLB. I’ve viewed some of the videos that of his wife and him and boy do they have a lot of athletes they can raise.
When I asked him about is his top favorite thing about being a musician, the answer was simple, ” Being able to remove someone from their world when I perform and provide them with the chance to escape the outside world, and help them forget about their problems.” You can see from his responses to the questions that his fans matter to him, and he’s never going to let them down. Also, I asked him about the most common misconceptions are regarding being a musician, and He replied, ” It’s definitely not this huge, raging celebration all night long like the ones you’ve seen Motley crew have but it’s certainly not always enjoyable.” I can understand that it’s not a massive event, but I’m unable to believe that it’s always enjoyable, which is likely due to the fact that I’m not an artist. It’s just a matter of telling you that should I have the same voice as Patrick, I’d have an event for all my pets every night with a disco running. We should be thankful to God for the Heavens that I am not able to sing.
Patrick’s most favorite characteristic of his fans is ” The real die-hard fans know what I drink, and they request Keith Whitley covers nonstop because they know I’m my favorite.” I should’ve asked him what his most-loved drink to ensure that when we all are lucky enough to be able to watch one of his shows we can show him some love and offer him a bit of liquid courage even though we’re sure he doesn’t require it.
