        • This is a grant shared for radios used by law enforcement. The amount for Counties will be $19,915.20.

    • Surplus Property Resolution – Stadium Bleachers –

      • This is to declare the collapsible bleachers for coliseum and benches to be surplus. The items will be offered for sale through Govedeals.
      • A little discussion took place among Commissioner Henderson who hadn’t read the information prior to voting. She said she was not opposed to the vote, but she said it was crucial to know the specifics before voting on any matter.
    • ARPA Project Resolution Buildings and Earth-GEO Tech Professional Service for jail – Unanimously approved the Medical and Mental Health Unit
  • Public Comments

    • An official from the Agency for Substance Abuse Prevention was able to remind everyone about this Social Resource program later in the day, as well as an event called the Barbers Against Bullets event in Talledega on July 31st.
    • Audrey Maxwell with the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce stated people who visited OPAC at The Ms. Alabama Volunteer Pageant and the coming Rubato Piano Competition.
    • David West with the County Extension Office acknowledged everyone who helped to support this event. David West from the County Extension Office thanked everyone who helped to support Calhoun County Beautification Award Luncheon. He also said it was a success that Camp Can Creek has completed successfully.
    • The representative of Anniston EMS thanked the Commission for their help.
    • Commissioner Terry Howell mentioned a new 501(c)(3) which has recently been established. It is called the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Foundation is a tax-exempt non-profit organization that was founded to help support the Calhoun County Sheriff Office. 100% of the donations received will be donated to the office. There are three possible options for making a donation 1. General items that the Sheriff might require financial assistance for. 2. Camera tag readers. 3. The deputy in need of assistance will be able to assist any deputy who is injured while helping the county. Commissioner Howell suggested that everyone visit the Facebook page and follow the organization, or donate via on the site.
    • Commissioner Danny Shears shared that the Community and Neighbors Nonprofit is hosting an event on Friday, the 28th of July. If anyone is interested in attending, they are able to contact Danny Shears. The nonprofit provides food to those in need.
    • He also spoke of the significance of Rubato Piano Competition in bringing an international spotlight to Calhoun County. Calhoun County community.
    • It was also mentioned that on August 3rd at 5pm, there an open hearing about the Redistricting map. This hearing is open to members of all the public.
