The AHSAA soccer playoffs begin Monday in addition, Calhoun County has an exciting new player in the tournament.

White Plains’ new girls program took to the field during the Wildcats in their inaugural season. They were a Class 4A and Area 5 second place and will take on the Area 6 winners Westbrook Christian in the Oval on on Tuesday.

White Plains, which had girls on the boys’ side at the time of this season, ended the regular season at 4-8 for the women’s team. Lorali McKenzie scored an all-time high of 16 goals for the team.

White Plains’ boys (10-4) have won Area 5 and will play the host team of Cherokee County on Monday. Gleymar Perez is the leader of the Wildcats with 23 goals.
