Weaver, AL –The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is home to a team of trained instructors certified to teach the Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D) program which they are able to provide to residents for a 12-hour class free of charge. This program has been carefully created to help individuals with a special focus on women by equipping the necessary self-defense techniques. The R.A.D. curriculum is based on the instillation of the four fundamental principles of education, self-reliance and independent decision-making, and realizing one’s strength within. The ultimate purpose that is the focus of R.A.D. System is to arm people with effective self-defense tools and ensure that they are ready to face any threats that could arise.
The course encompasses a broad range of subjects, such as the techniques of risk-reduction and awareness including voice commands, as well as basic self-defense techniques. The R.A.D. program is devoted to providing women with effective defensive techniques and strategies to defend themselves from various forms of attacks. The techniques are rooted in simple to learn but highly effective self-defense techniques. The goal of the program is to equip women with the information needed to make educated choices regarding self-defense.
If you are interested in taking part in the upcoming Women’s Self-Defense Course (R.A.D. ) There is a chance in Weaver High School. The course is split into four sections, with each one of which runs on different nights. It is strongly advised that students attend all sessions in order to learn the most from the subject matter.
