Piedmont, AL –Per the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) the two-vehicle collision that took place at around six-and-two p.m. Sunday the 30th of July resulted in the death of one Piedmont man. Marcus T. Raney Jr. 48, from Piedmont was killed in the crash after the collision occurred in 2011. The Harley Davidson motorcycle that he was riding hit with the Nisan Frontier driven by Hannah M. Bagwell 28 who is also from Piedmont. Raney was declared dead on the scene. Bagwell suffered injuries and was was airlifted into UAB Hospital in Birmingham. The crash took place in the vicinity of U.S. 278 near 153 mile marker, which is less than one mile to the west from Piedmont city limits, which is located in Calhoun County. The details are not available yet as Troopers from Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are continuing to look into the incident.
