Montgomery, AL –Since 1997, Central Alabama CrimeStoppers has been working to solve, stop and stop crime. CrimeStoppers is an organization that is non-profit that brings together law enforcementagencies, media, and members of the community and works together to create the local Alabama communities safer to live, work and play.
CrimeStoppers serves the law enforcement agencies of 79 that cover 28 counties. CrimeStoppers’ success wouldn’t happen without their exceptional law enforcement partners and the support from the local communities.
CrimeStoppers has an impressive digital media presence and has an official website. It also has an ongoing Facebook presence that is viewed by millions of visits each year. Although these numbers are amazing however, the 250 media contacts CrimeStoppers has made, has allowed it to reach millions of Alabamans by 2022.
Due to these partnerships and partnerships, in 2022 CrimeStoppers was able to receive 1,169 tip and gave $22,500.00 to anonymous tippers who provided details that led to 342 felony criminal charges. With these astounding numbers, law enforcement officers were able to recover $145,120.00 of property stolen, and seized $91,658.00 worth of illicit drugs from Alabama streets.
CrimeStoppers continued its collaboration together with U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force and assisted in the identification of 16 violent criminals wanted for kidnapping and robbery, assault, and murder. CrimeStoppers offered a cash reward anonymous tipsters who provided information that assisted in the tracking and ultimately resulted in the arrest of the violent criminals.
in 2022 CrimeStoppers awarded the Officer of The Year awards to our agency partners who were above and beyond to assist their communities. CrimeStoppers praised the extraordinary character and dedication of U.S. Marshalls Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force for 2021. With their commitment and perseverance the Task Force arrested 487 fugitives and disposed of 673 warrants, making our communities more secure. In an effort to decrease violence The Task Force seized 73 firearms and served 79 warrants for murder while 169 warrants were executed for assault. In addition Task Force members served Task Force served 118 robbery warrants as well as the 51 warrants for sexual assault and 56 narcotic warrants and seized 10.646 kilograms of narcotics off the streets. Central Alabama CrimeStoppers has also given the Investigator Clifford H. Clark, Autauga County Sheriff’s Office, Lieutenant Joseph Donofrio, Troy Police Department and corporal Makinley Robinson, Dadeville Police Department as the 2021 CrimeStoppers Police Officers of the Year in recognition of their commitment and exceptional work ethics. Police Officer David Johnson, Alexander Police Department was recognized as CrimeStoppers School Resource Officer of the Year.
