Anniston, AL – As temperatures that are freezing loom ahead as Anniston, AL’s City of Anniston is asking residents to take appropriate precautions. To combat the predicted cold snap that is expected to hit the area midweek, the city has declared the launch of an open warming station for the public for those who need a place to stay during frigid winter night.
This warming facility, which is located in The Bridge at Anniston First United Methodist Church (1400 Noble St, Anniston, AL 36201) It will be open starting at 5:00 PM CST during the evenings, and will shut the doors at 8:00 am CST on Wednesday the 27th of December, 2023. The station is expected to be open until the following Monday January 1, 2024.

Additionally, the City has reached out to the public for help in preparing meals for meals and breakfasts in the warm-up station.
