Anniston, AL – In reaction to the rapid growth in downtown Anniston along with the residents’ reservations about parking shortages in the city, Anniston’s City of Anniston is pleased to announce a major improvement. The city has granted MBA Engineers a contract to create a brand new public parking facility on the old Model City Building site, strategically situated near an intersection between 12th Street and Noble Street in Anniston.

Presently, MBA Engineers is in the beginning stages of designing beginning to lay the foundation for a project that is expected to solve the city’s parking issues completely. The draft concept which is below, gives an idea of what’s coming up, including cutting-edge landscaping, modern lighting, as well as the creation of more than 70 needed open parking places.

When MBA Engineers finalizes their design plans and the city unveils the detailed timeline of the project. Then the city of Anniston will request bids from potential contractors. The choice of a contractor is the next phase of this revolutionary initiative, and the project is scheduled to begin in 2024.

The entire project will encompass many key stages. The project will begin with backfilling of the hole with fill dirt, which will be followed by a thorough graders of the entire area. Asphalt will then be laid and the final details, such as lighting and landscaping are to be added once the project is completed.
