St. Clair County, AL – In the early hours of Sunday 5 November, a tragic two-vehicle collision took place on Interstate 20 which resulted with the death of one Pell city man’s life. William C. Kimbert, an 28-year-old local from Pell City, died injured in the crash that took place at around 2:07 a.m.
The incident involved two cars the 2012. Dodge Avenger driven by Kimbert and an 2021 Kia Forte operated by Michelle E. Quick Michelle E. Quick, 29, a resident of Oxford. According to authorities it was the Dodge Avenger driven by Kimbert was hit with Quick’s Kia Forte.
A disturbing detail was discovered during the investigation during the investigation: at the time the accident, Kimbert was not using an appropriate seat belt. This could have played an important impact on the seriousness the injuries he sustained. In tragically, he was declared dead at his location at the time of the crash.
Michelle E. Quick, however suffered injuries during the crash. She was immediately taken into the University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital (UAB) to receive medical care.
The crash site was determined to be Interstate 20 located near the 150-mile marker. It is about six miles to the east of Moody and is located in St. Clair County.
As the investigation progresses The the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division Troopers are working hard to unravel the facts that led to the tragic incident. As of now there is no additional information available.
