Calhoun County, AL – Calhoun County, Alabama – United States Congress created the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to be the leader of a national effort to commemorate the fallen firefighters in America. In the years since 1992, the tax-exempt non-profit Foundation has created and expanded programs to pay tribute to fallen heroes in the field and help their families and colleagues. Its National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service will take place on Sunday 7 May 2023, in honor of firefighters who lost their lives while on duty.

I in accordance with Public Law 107-51 according to Public Law 107-51, the American flag must be raised to half-staff on the Sunday of the 7th of May, 2023, from sunrise to sunset, in celebration of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service.
Between June 6 and 7 the nation will stop to pay tribute to the fallen firefighters during the 42 2nd National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend. The honor will be given to all the firefighters killed in 2022 and 79 who perished in 2022 and the 65 who perished in the previous years.

The National Fallen Firefighters Candlelight Service will take place on May 6 at 7:30pm ET. The National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service will be held on the 7th of May at 10:10 AM ET. Both events are free to the public. They will be streamed live on the website of the National Fallen firefighters’ Foundation’s website ( firehero.org) and on the its YouTube Channel, and the Facebook page.
