Montgomery, AL –In efforts to promote the culture of volunteerism and service The governor’s Office of Volunteer Services plays an important role in an agency of the Alabama State Service Commission, which is a state agency that is appointed by the governor. It is committed to meeting the most pressing community needs and involving citizens in volunteering The Commission manages a variety of programs, such as programs like the AmeriCorps State program, Volunteer Generation Fund as well as the Ready Alabama Campaign.
As an intermediary between the government and the community and the community, the office strives to boost the spirit of volunteerism and service in Alabama. As the manager of the Ready Alabama Campaign, a nationwide emergency preparedness program it encourages Alabamans to design and implement emergency kits, and encourages the need for disaster preparedness.
“Our office aims to strengthen the capacities of both organizations and individuals to improve and enhance the communities where they reside,” shared a representative from the Governor’s Office of Volunteer Services. “We are determined to support initiatives that increase the capabilities of Alabama’s faith and community-based organizations, while encouraging collaboration in order to meet some of the most pressing needs within Alabama.”
With a primary focus on collaboration with other organizations, with a focus on collaboration, Governor’s Office of Volunteer Services is currently working together with Animal Shelters, the Humane Society as well as other organizations that are related to pets in order to increase volunteering, service and pet disaster preparation in Alabama. This alliance is a reflection of the intention to not only meet immediate needs of the community, but also provide assistance to organizations that are dedicated to the well-being of animals.
