Eastaboga, AL –Rainbow Omega, Inc. was awarded the top award by Honda North America as one of 35 companies that achieved top-quality service and delivery and was honored by Rainbow Omega’s Community Center earlier this week.
“For the past three years, Rainbow Omega has worked for years to unlock the potential of a few of our most extraordinary Alabamans,” said Governor Ivey. “To be acknowledged by an internationally renowned corporation such as Honda is proof that this group has been able to fulfill its mission every day.”
Rainbow Omega has been assembling the Owner’s Manual Kits for Honda automobiles manufactured in Lincoln, AL since December 2006. At first, Rainbow Omega’s Vocational Program created manuals for a specific model. Now, Rainbow Omega’s Honda Line Team assembles manuals for four Honda models:
Pilot, Odyssey, Ridgeline and Passport.
“Our Honda line runs 5 7 days a week.” Rainbow Omega CEO Tim Hodge. “The daily production average is 1,200-1300 units every day.”
Honda awarded 35 suppliers with awards with outstanding performance in 2022, in three areas. Rainbow Omega earned Excellence in Quality and Delivery. Honda collaborates with 702 mass-production suppliers and nearly 1,200 suppliers of parts throughout North America.
Michelle McGarity, Honda’s Senior Staff Engineer Purchasing Technical Division, presented the award at the ceremony at the expense of Rainbow Omega, “Honda is pleased to acknowledge Rainbow Omega as 1 of 35 suppliers who received an award for 2022’s Supplier Award for excellence in Quality & Deliverability.”
Rainbow Omega’s Vocational Program Workforce is comprised of 63 students including 13 Job coaches two quality coordinators, and a program director. Each participant of the Vocational Program participates in the making of the kits, either in the production line, or by applying labels to the boxes. Nine people that Rainbow Omega serves and 7 staff members are part of the main Honda group that runs the assembly line.
“Individuals who wish on the assembly line are encouraged to begin the process of training” Gail Tillman, director of vocational programs, said. “Training is geared towards the ability to put together kits with no errors and accelerate speed to match the demands that the assembly line is operating at.”
Rainbow Omega also has a agreement in place with Neptune Technology Group.
