“The education of the children of Alabama is my main focus as governor. There is no reason to divert or detract from this task. Let me make it and clear: concepts of wacky which have nothing connection to a good education and are a source of division in the end do not belong in Alabama classrooms, at any and certainly not for our smallest learners. We want our kids to be focused on the basic subjects like math and reading.
Alabama’s first Class Pre-K program is among the top in the nation, and the children are at a crucial a point in their education and growth to be wrong. I’m certain of the amazing educators we have in preschool classrooms throughout the state, and in the importance for our children to receive an excellent start to their education in Our First Class Preschool Program. I am grateful to for Dr. Cooper for her service however, I believe it’s best to keep this program that has been incredibly successful with a positive outlook under the new leadership.”

According to the office of the Governor, they gave context to the governor’s concerns that this resource book was”woke agenda “woke agenda” The book evokes the notion that teachers are “larger forces in the system that sustain the system which perpetuate the concept of White advantages” and it is claimed that “the United States is built upon structural and systemic racism.” The other information the information for kids aged 4 years old is that “LGBTQIA+ must receive and experience messages that encourage equality, dignity, and value.” In the glossary, it also outlines “equally troubling ideas that are not supported by the Ivey Administration and the people of Alabama do not in any way, shape or manner consider should be employed to influence children in schools or even four-year-olds. Governor Ivey does not endorse these notions. As long as she is the governor, Alabama will be focused on ensuring that our students receive a high-quality education.”
