Jacksonville, AL – Jacksonville State University (JSU) invites the public to share in the celebration of Christmas in JSU’s Annual JSU in Lights event that kicks off the holiday season tonight around 5 p.m. on the President’s House. JSU will light up the festive spirit with ceremony-like lighting, followed with hot cocoa, delicious cookies and sleigh rides that are delightful which makes it the perfect event for families and friends.
To enhance the pleasure of giving and to make it more enjoyable, in conjunction with the Student Government Association (SGA) is organizing fundraising efforts to support JCC. Jacksonville Christian Outreach Center (JCOC) during JSU in Lights. The SGA invites guests to bring toys that are unwrapped or underwear as well as gift cards that are suitable for young people from 0 to 17 years old. The donations will bring joy to the season for children of the local area and encourage a sense community involvement.
The Christmas celebrations continue on November 30th, with Marching Southerners taking the center stage at the biggest annual Jacksonville Christmas Parade. Beginning from 6:30 p.m. starting at Pelham Plaza near Johnson’s, the parade will make through JSU. JSU campus. The public is invited to dress up, sip a warm beverage and then line Pelham Road to enjoy this well-known tradition of the community.
A touch of elegance to the festivities The Marching Ballerinas will literally kick off the holiday season with Kickmas on 1 December starting at 6:45 p.m. The celebration will take place in the Stone Center, welcoming everyone from the community. The admission at Kickmas is a contribution to The Gamecock Market, reinforcing the spirit of giving during the Christmas season.
