Jacksonville (AL) – According to Buffy Lockette, Director of Strategic Communications at JSU, more than 30% of undergraduates from Jax State were named to the Honors List in Fall 2022 for their exceptional academic performance. This represents a 14 percent increase over Spring 2022 and a 9 percent increase over Fall 2020.

Around 1200 students completed the President’s List. They earned a perfect 4.0 grade and took at least 12 credits. 1300 students made the Dean’s List. They earned a perfect 4.0 GPA while taking at least 12 credit hours.

The university’s increasing emphasis on student success could explain the growing Honors List. Under President Don Killingsworth’s leadership, the university now offers more academic support resources than ever. In 2021, the university opened a Student Success Center and implemented a central advising model in 2022.

Students who want to be on the Honors List in spring 2015 are encouraged to use the Student Success Center’s free tutoring and success coaching programs.
