Anniston, AL –On the 5th of June, on a Wednesday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, the Anniston Museums and Gardens will be hosting anLearn Grow Eat and Play class. Come join Alabama Cooperative Extension Agent, Tammy Hall each Wednesday for Learn to Grow, Eat and go! Learn about, Grow, Eat and Go! (LGEG) will be the scientifically-based curriculum initiative for The Junior Master Gardener Program. It blends academic success and gardening with nutrient-rich food experiences, physical exercise, and engagement with the family. This set of hands-on taught lessons that have been tested can help students understand plants and how they can meet the needs of people. The curriculum features opportunities for the students to participate in fresh vegetable tastings/evaluations, simple recipe demos, and physical activities that research shows can improve on-task behavior and academic performance. This program is designed specifically for students in the rising 3rd-5th grade students. Pre-registration recommended.
