Calhoun County, AL Calhoun County, AL The popular brand once more tops Championship A among flights for Sunny King Charity Classic
The names of the eight flights that will be part of the Sunny King Charity Classic are on the leaderboard. And once again, the flamboyant Ford Mustang tops the field for the championship A flight.
This will be the 11th time since 2009 that the plane has carried the name. It will also be it’s the second year in consecutive years.
The top flight was the Mustang every year since 2012 to 2018 until the tournament organizers put the brakes on to go with the Ford Lightning in 2019 and 2021. COVID pulled the tournament in 2020.
The Championship B flight will carry this year’s Lightning logo this season.
The names of the flights have always come from the brands that are offered by the tournament’s patron, Sunny King Automotive Group.
The other flights that are in order are called RAV 4, Integra, Pilot, Mach E, Camry and Accord. There is only those named the Mustang along with Honda Pilot and Honda Pilot carry over from last year’s names for flights.
The upcoming Classic starts on September. 15. The two previous Classics have played into multi-hole tournaments at the hole 16 of Anniston Country Club.
