Pleasant Valley (AL) – Pleasant Valley’s girls and boys split with Cedar Bluff, then eye Munford, then Ranburne on Friday

Sometimes, a head coach has to just shrug it off. That was Brad Hood’s Monday night. After his Pleasant Valley boys lost 55-45 to Cedar Bluff, he said that there was a lid. It was there, and it was best to get rid of it before more serious things happen.
Cedar Bluff, No. 10, was split by the Raiders’ boys & girls. The Alabama Sports Writers Association’s latest poll for boys and daughters ranked the Raiders as the No. 10 team in Class 1.A. The Raiders’ girls won 53 to 46. Tuesday night, the Class 2A Pleasant Valley teams face off against 4A Munford at home.
This sets the stage to host Pleasant Valley’s boys’ and girls’ area tournaments. Ranburne’s girls and boys come calling and wins would at the very least position the Raiders for coin flips that will determine which team hosts the region tournament.
Pleasant Valley’s boys might be able to host the region tourney for the first-time since 2013. They would love to win it all, and without any coin flips. It all depends on what happens on Tuesday between Ranburne, Woodland. Hood stated, “We’ll find out tomorrow night.” Ranburne beat Woodland (43-31) at Ranburne the other day. If Woodland beat Ranburne at Woodland then this game will decide who the winner is.” Pleasant Valley’s home games against Ranburne are huge.
