“Our senior class this year was in Kindergarten the previous time PV made it to the playoffs. We are thrilled to make the playoffs, but would like to be focused on a successful final performance in the regular season starting next week. The players are getting better each week.”
The Raiders end their regular season by playing a non-regional match with Weaver on home.
Jaden Sparks was the catalyst for the first Pleasant Valley touchdown on Friday by recovering a fumble and a 50-yard return. Clark Hill made good with an impressive 15-yard touchdown jog.
Holt Bentley followed with a 15-yard touchdown jog, and Braxton Salster scored the 60-yard touchdown pass for Hunter Sparks.
The Tristan Williams interception set up Salster’s 35-yard touchdown pass for Hunter Sparks, and the Raiders were leading 28-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Hill’s touchdown run of 5 yards, Hunter Sparks’ 38-yard return for an interception, and Salster’s 46-yard touchdown run led the Raiders in the lead 47-6 at halftime.
The starters remained rested for the majority of the second period.
“We suffered a lot of key injury issues this year, yet the team remained committed to one another,” Nix said. “We are currently having eight newcomers who have been on defense or offensive for over the past two weeks.
“We are so thrilled for the team they have assembled and for how well they have pulled to come together in this year’s season.”
