The presentation: Extension Office – Children’s Policy Council Literacy Grant
- The Dr. David West introduced Vanessa Wood and Bre Steele to talk about the The No Child left Inside Outdoor Classroom. The school has bonds, a 350 seats amphitheater, waterfall, and a lot of native plants. The area was also designated as an National Wildlife Preserve. It allows children to study in the natural environment and not be limited to the classroom.

Public Comments
- It was Dr. Weston introduced Preston Hale in his 111 Legion at Oxford. Preston. Hale is helping revitalize Piney Wood Chapel. It will be a continuous project. He’s asked the commission to aid in the purchase of doors.
- Jon Garlick spoke about his campaign in the race for Calhoun County Probate Judge. Garlick cited his numerous certifications and a solid background with mental healthcare as an important advantage to assist those who were before him receive the help they need and avoid the risk of jail.
- Dr. Reyes, Calhoun County Superintendent, provided an update on improvements to schools and the sports team’s victory, with special mention to The Weaver Band and their “Domination of all other bands within the State.”
- Julie Borrelli addressed the audience and said she would be running for the position of Calhoun County Probate Judge. However, she did not hesitate to thank all the Commissioners for their dedication to their work. She also said that a lot of the work done isn’t seen, and frequently not made public, so she wanted to be sure to publicly acknowledge them for their work.
- Linda Hearn with the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce Linda Hearn, Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce, gave an account of various events scheduled for 2023. She she also mentioned many more coming up next year.
- Ed Turner with the Anniston Water and Sewer Board expressed gratitude to Commission members for their efforts. Commission for the numerous projects that were completed. He also acknowledged the progress of Wellborn Tower. Wellborn Tower.
- Calhoun County Public Information Officer, Brittany Reeves reminded everyone of the adoption event for pets on 12/22, 12:00 pm – 4:45 pm in Calhoun County Animal Control Facility. Calhoun County Animal Control Facility.
