Oxford, AL – Folks who appreciate traditional country music will be in for a treat when Grammy-nominated musician Josh Turner brings his “Long Black Train 20th Anniversary Tour” to the Oxford Performing Arts Center on December 3rd on Sunday at 7:15 at 7:00 pm. Turner is well-known for his booming baritone voice and timeless songs is set to dazzle the crowd with an unforgettable night of celebration and music.
The musical career of Josh Turner has been nothing short of remarkable. With top-charting songs such as “Long black Train” and “Why Do We Not Dance,” Turner has achieved a worldwide reach that exceeds 5.8 billion streams. This includes 6.5 million albums sold and more than 12 million sales of tracks across the globe. His record has included five no. 1 singles, including “Your Man” has music videos that have exceeded the mark of 223 million viewers.
The spotlight will be on Turner’s cult album, “Long Black Train,” which came out 20 years ago and was awarded Platinum certification from the RIAA. The first single from the same title also earned Platinum certification, boasting more than 1 million tracks downloaded and more than 245 million worldwide streams.
It was 2021 when Turner commemorated the 15th anniversary of Turner’s platinum-selling double record “Your Man” by releasing”Your Man Deluxe Edition “Your Man Deluxe Edition” and a miniature documentary “Josh Turner Your Man 15th Anniversary” (Mini Doc). The hit single that sold triple platinum, “Would You Go With Me,” experienced a revival of virality on TikTok and was featured on Spotify’s US Viral 50 as well as numerous charts across the world.
A man with a variety of talent, Turner, a native of South Carolina, has been nominated for three GMA Dove Awards, winning his first one in 2021 with “I saw the light” with Sonya Isaacs. Turner’s achievements also are reflected in nominations to two GRAMMY Awards, five CMA Awards and two ACM Awards, one CMT Award and seven ACA Awards, and six Inspirational Country Music Awards.
