Anniston, AL –Join the City of Anniston and Main Street Anniston as they commemorate 140 years in Anniston, Alabama on Saturday 1 July 2023. The city was incorporated on the 3rd of July 1883, the town invites all the residents to come together at Zinn Park as they come together to mark the 140th anniversary of the beloved city. Anniston has been referred to as “The Model City” (as the name was coined by Atlanta newspaperman Henry W. Grady) because of its careful plan in the latter part of the 19th century.
On this day, they’ll be performing live music from Edgewood Heavy, inflatables in together with the playground and splash pads for the kids to play on as well as the “Touch The Truck” zone which is run by Anniston Police Department Anniston Police Department and the Anniston Fire Department, food trucks as well as the “backyard barbecue” competition, and much more. The event runs from 11:00 am until at 2:00 after 2:00.
This “backyard barbecue” competition will take place between Anniston Police Department Anniston Police Department and the Anniston Fire Department however, since they also have another event in the works, they are inviting people from the community to participate.
