Jacksonville, AL –Jax State University and The Center for Best Practices in Law Enforcement announcedthat “On behalf of University Partnership for Alabama Continuing Education and the Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police I have great pleasure in announcing the fact that Police Chief Michael S. Barton has completed 240 hours of instruction within the Certified Law Enforcement Executive Program. This is the most prestigious level of accomplishment that can be achieved in this course,” stated Kaleb Littlejohn director of the Center for Best Practices in Law Enforcement at Jacksonville State University and UPACE Partner. Chief Barton is among a select group of chiefs across the state that have successfully completed the four-level training program designed in collaboration with the Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police and is backed through the Alabama Peace Officers’ Standards and Training Commission. This recognition is a true merit to Chief Barton as well as Jacksonville State University. Chief Barton was awarded this certificate and honor during the annual Association of Chiefs of Police Conference in Orange Beach, Alabama on the 3rd of August, 2023.
