Calhoun County (AL) – The National Weather Service issued a Severe Weather Alert for Central Alabama, including Calhoun County. The NWS currently ranks warnings according to “confidence levels”. These confidence levels range from 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest). At the moment, a 3 is the most likely likelihood of a storm. This threat includes tornadoes, large hail and localized flooding.
“An area of high-risk severe storms is possible in Central Alabama, between 3PM Tuesday and 8AM Wednesday. Threats include tornadoes, damaging
Winds up to 70 mph and hail up up to ping-pong ball size The highest possible risk
These threats are located west of Interstate 65. Heavy rain
Localized flooding may also be possible.”
