Talladega, AL –In an incident that took place at around 12.10 p.m. at night on Tuesday 12 December, a two-vehicle collision has caused the Talladega community mourning. Dixie S. Roberts, an 63-year-old woman who died was killed in the crash that took place on Alabama 34, near the 5 mile marker, about five miles to the north from Talladega within Talladega County.

The fatal accident was a result of the vehicle in 2004 Toyota Avalon driven by Roberts and the 2012. Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Jennifer S. Milstead, who is a 71-year old citizen of Talladega. As per reports, Roberts’ Toyota Avalon was hit with Milstead’s Hyundai Santa Fe, resulting in fatal injuries to Roberts. Tragically, the driver was declared dead at the scene.

Jennifer S. Milstead and a driver of Jennifer S. Milstead and a passenger in the Hyundai, Sonja H. Jenkins, 64, from Talladega Both sustained injuries from the crash. They were swiftly taken into RMC Hospital in Anniston for needed medical treatment. In addition, Kathleen C. Studdard, age 82, from Talladega who was an occupant of the Toyota Avalon, suffered injuries and was taken for treatment at UAB Hospital in Birmingham for medical treatment.

The exact details of the incident remain under investigation by troopers from ALLEA’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division. The crash site is close to the 5-mile mark located on Alabama 34.
