Lincoln, AL – A multi-vehicle accident on the 29th of December, 2015 at 11:16 a.m. and resulted in the loss one Ragland woman’s life. Lori M. Laber, 43, died after her 2017. Honda Civic she was driving was involved in a collision with several vehicles which included an Kenworth dump truck as well as the Dodge Charger.
The fatal crash took place on Alabama 77, near the 80-mile mark, which is within the city borders of Lincoln situated within Talladega County. The circumstances that led to the accident indicate the Laber’s Honda Civic was struck from behind by an 2021 Dodge Charger, which was driven by a Trooper who was assigned for the Alabama Law Enforcement Authority’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division. In the following incident, Laber’s car got hit by a Kenworth dump truck, driven by the 59 year-old Stephen J. Hopkins of Pell City.
Lori M. Laber was not wearing a seat belt at time of the crash. Her impact led her be thrown out of the vehicle and she was declared dead on the spot. The accident also injured one of the passengers in the Honda that was identified as Jesse R. Ecker Jr. 43, who is and also of Ragland. Ecker was, too, not wearing an appropriate seatbelt, was removed from the vehicle and taken to Citizens Baptist Medical Center in Talladega to receive treatment.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division is currently conducting an investigation into the accident. More information about the events which led to the accident is subject to the outcome of the investigation ALEA Troopers.
