Oxford (Oxford) Mason Mims passed for 4 touchdowns and 293 yards, and Oxford defeated the visiting Huntsville 35-6 on the road last Friday to increase their record to 2-0 for the season.

This is the first Oxford second consecutive 2-0 win since 2-0 in the year that Oxford’s Yellow Jackets went on to take home their third state championship and the first time in 26 years.

The teams of 2021 and 2020 started their games against 7A powerhouse Thompson The 2022 team was defeated in the opening game against McAdory.

Oxford’s Camare Hampton snagged three touchdown passes with a 57-yarder as well. Oxford added a score thanks to a 24 yard Nick Richardson run and D.K. Wilson’s catch and run of 25 yards.

Mims was successful in 22 out of 33 passes in the night.

Oxford had seven tackles each by Keenan Britt as well as Donovan Jones, and Britt also had a sack.

OHATCHEE 26 WELLBORN 7.An injured Ohatchee team fell to Wellborn 45-7, this time one year ago, however, a the healthy Ohatchee team changed the odds in “The Hill.”

Nate Jones rushed 28 times for 151 yards. Jake Roberson completed four of five passes for 112 yards and a touchdown. Indians made it 2-1. Roberson also nabbed the ball that ran 26 yards.

Ohatchee beat Wellborn 352 yards, 198 yards and a half.

Pleasant Valley 40 DONOHO 0,At Donoho Pleasant Valley’s Clark Hill rushed for 121 yards and scored two touchdowns, and Braxton Salster had 89 yards of rushing, and two scores.

Holt Bentley rushed for 88 yards of rushing and scored two touchdowns. Jaden Sparks ran up to the 75-yard line.

Nic Acker was intercepted twice He also intercepted two passes. Hill took one of them off the field. Hill.

In defense Deon Dupree had four tackles as well as a sack. Caleb Stallings had three tackles and recovering a fumble. Moses Averette had five tackles which included a loss tackle and two sacks.

HANDLEY 55 ST. JAMES 27:Does Handley ever run out of running backs? No.

E.J. Goss was a runner to 177 yards with four scores while the quarterback Cannon Kyles accounted for 105 total yards and scored a touchdown while The Tigers (2-0) defeated the current Class 3A state champion.

Goss is the son of Clemson’s Jay Haynes, rushed behind an experienced offensive line to score touchdowns of 55, one 49, three yards.

Kyles made five of his 14 passes, gaining 94 yards. He also scored a touchdown of two yards as well Jamarian Heath returned an interception at 97 yards for the touchdown.

The other score was scored by Handley on an uninvolved run by Jamarcus Daniel of 16 yards in the fourth quarter.

The Tigers were able to rush for 323 yards, while holding St. James to 23 yards of rushing.
