Tel Aviv, Israel Tel Aviv, IsraelU.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) recently announced that she would be leaving for a congressional official trip to in the Middle East with a bipartisan group comprised of Senate colleagues, headed by Senate Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). During their trip, the Senators would be able to observe the current situation in person, meeting with the leaders of the region, and highlighting their support for the United States’ unequivocal support for Israel in the wake of the harrowing terrorist attacks of Hamas.

The official statement read: “Today, I’m headed to the Middle East with a bipartisan group of my Senate colleagues, led by senator Lindsey Graham. This trip is an expression of our unwavering complete, unambiguous, and unwavering affirmation of Israel as well as the rights to protect ourselves against the brutal attacks on innocent women, children and males from Hamas terrorists. As a mother, an American and an American Christian I am completely shocked by the horrific things we’ve witnessed. While on our trip together, my coworkers and I will be adamant about peace within the Middle East as we work toward a long-term sustainable peace that will keep Americans safe both at home and around the world. I will continue working with colleagues from both sides during the coming days, months ahead in order to make sure that Israel is equipped with everything it requires. Peace can only be achieved from strength. Stability of the entire world, the region as well as our security in our own homeland, as well as the security of our families and communities are dependent on this. We ask you to pray for us in the days to come. We ask you to pray for our great nation, and keep praying for Israel. Thank for your prayers and God bless you.”

U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) joined the bipartisan group of her colleagues, headed by Senate Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Ben Cardin (D-Md. ) to attend an event to discuss what they observed and heard in Israel. Senators’ delegation visited Israel in the course of a trip in Israel. Middle East to meet with the top leaders, to advocate for stability and long-term peace, and stress that the United States’ unequivocal support for Israel in the aftermath of the brutal terrorist attack by Hamas on the 7th of October.

Senator Britt said, “I want to start by thanking Senator Graham. I am grateful to you for bringing the group you have. Senator Cardin and you Cardin have put together a bipartisan senators. We all arrived in the nation not as either a Democrat or Republican. We came here as Americans and standing in solidarity with Israel. As we entered the room and talked with the families of these hostages I was listening as a mother and was listening as a wife, in my role as a sister, an auntie. As I thought about the hardships these families must go through, and imagining what every hostage is experiencing is a nightmare. As we watched the video and heard the stories of today the events that occurred were shocking. The loss of life – children being forced to watch their parents being murdered. Parents watching their children burn until death. Women to be raped, and children being slain. It’s a shambles, it’s detestable and absolute evil. It’s not a secret that I believe that people from all religions can live together peacefully and prosper. But I am not convinced that goodness can coexist with evil. If evil is afoot and we see at it in the face and then we have to take it down. Hamas is a pure form of evil. Israel has the right to defend herself. But it’s not just the right, they also have a duty, to their children as well as their children’s youngsters. They are bound by the rights of the innocent. They are bound by all peace-loving people in the world. That is the ultimate goal we would like to see. We are determined to see Hamas to be wiped out and we would like that peace be restored. President Reagan declared that “evil can’t exist if good people are not afraid.’ Iran, Hamas and we are in front of you today to say that we’re unafraid. We stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Israel. We’ll take you down.”

Alongside senators Britt, Graham, and Cardin and Cardin, other those in the delegation comprise Senate Minority Whip John Thune (R-S.Dak. ), Senate Appropriations Committee Vice Chair Susan Collins (R-Maine), Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Jack Reed (D-R.I.) and senators Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska), Chris Coons (D-Del. ), Cory Booker (D-N.J.) as well as Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.).
