Washington D.C. –U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) who is a member on the Energy and Water Subcommittee of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, recently joined Senator Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) and an all-party group of six of their colleagues to introduce legislation that would prohibit this Biden Administration from banning gas stoves.

“Save Our Gas Stoves Act “Save the Gas Stoves of America Act” specifically prohibits an U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) from adopting a rule which would impose invasive and expensive standards on the homes of many millions of Americans. The legislation for companion stoves was introduced in the House by Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-Ariz.).


“There is probably no more egregious instance of overreaching by the government than the sweeping attempts to end the gas stoves that are used,” said Senator Britt. “I’m happy to be a part of Senator Sullivan along with my colleagues in proposing this commonsense measure to make sure that hardworking American families be able to afford the best appliances for their homes. .”

Senators Britt and Sullivan were joined by Senators Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Deb Fischer (R-Neb. ), Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) as well as Ted Budd (R-N.C.). Senator Manchin is Chair of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.

Companion legislation was approved by through the House of Representatives in a bipartisan vote this week.
