Two weeks after Juneau woman’s home was robbed, she claims it has been returned anonymously to her by someone who declined the reward she offered.
“font-weight 400 ;”>” My family and I cannot express our gratitude enough to this anonymous person,” Neilga Koogei Taija Revels wrote in a Facebook post. They know who I am, and I will always be grateful to them.”
Revels stated in the post that she was contacted from someone saying they purchased the regalia from someone walking around downtown trying to sell it. Revels claims that the person who returned her regalia was informed by Revels that the regalia had been stolen because of the media attention it received on social media.
Revels stated that she still has $15,000 in stolen property, but is at peace.
She said that everything is “just stuff” when compared to regalia.
Revels explained to KTOO after the burglary that the regalia was an integral part of Hoonah’s history as well as a precious connection to her grandmother .
Anthony Perry, a Juneau man, was arrested for burglary earlier in the month. However, at that time, the items still were missing. Perry was charged for five counts of burglary in connection with the break-in. The next hearing is set for March.
This is still a developing story. Keep checking back for more updates.
