A former contractor has been sentenced for conspiracy and bribery related to military contracts at Eielson Air Force Base and Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Alaska, Ryan Dalbec, owner of Best Choice Construction LLC, Mesa, Ariz. was sentenced to 42 months imprisonment and a $172,000 fine. Eielson will also be restitutionally paid $16,000.

According to court records, Dalbec agreed to pay $460,000 in bribes in exchange for confidential bidding information which helped him win contracts. This included a $6.8million project related to the Eielson buildup of F-35 Lightning II fighter planes.

Raihana Nadem and Dalbec, his wife, helped Nash to launder the bribery proceeds. Last month, Nash was sentenced to 30 months imprisonment and $47,000 in “unlawful profits” from bribes received by Best Choice.

Both Dalbec’s wife and husband pleaded guilty to the case. Nadem was scheduled for sentencing Dec. 16.
