People living in the Southeast need to be ready for high winds and extremely low temperatures throughout the week.
The National Weather Service issued an advisory of high winds to the downtown area of Juneau and Douglas through Thursday afternoon tomorrow and an specific weather advisory warns of extremely low temperatures and windschill across the entire region.
The temperatures are predicted to begin falling rapidly on Wednesday night, and will remain colder until at least Friday morning.
The lows are expected to remain in the teens for much of Panhandle. In higher elevations on the Haines and Klondike Highways temperatures could rise to the temperature of 10 degrees lower than zero.

The strong winds are expected to make temperatures drop even more particularly in the downtown area of Juneau and Douglas where the speed of wind could be 25-30 mph, with the possibility of gusts 60-70 mph.
The property of boats or other objects that may blow around must be secured. Also, residents must take care to avoid pipes getting frozen or burst.
