For the last half of the year for the past year, KTOO newsroom is working on a huge project that will be launched this week. Mga Kuwento, which means “the stories” in Tagalog is headed by the KTOO Community Engagement Producer, Tasha Elizarde. Tasha and her team collaborated with a variety of partners on this project which included Filipino Community Inc., and the Juneau-Douglas Museum.

New Podcast AIRING | October. 6.: The new KTOO podcast, Mga Kuwento, premieres. You can listen to it on your preferred podcast application or search for the show via ktoo.org.
EXHIBIT STARTS Oct. 6, from 4:00 – 7 p.m.: An exhibit that showcases images dating to the 1920s dance and parade costumes, family memorabilias and works of art will be on display until Nov. 22 in the Juneau-Douglas Museum. The First Friday event will include Filipino desserts prepared by local chefs.
Community Celebration | October. 7 from 12 until five p.m.: The whole community is invited to come together with Filipino Community, Inc. for a feast that blends Filipino flavours and performances, cultural workshops and a historical display on the Filipino Community Hall, 251 South Franklin Street.
