Special Olympics Alaska is a non-stop source of training and competitions in various Olympic-type sports for adults and children with disabilities intellectual. It gives athletes the opportunity to continue athletes to improve their physical fitness and courage, feel happiness, and share their abilities, gifts and connections to their loved ones, fellow Special Olympics athletes, and the wider community.

Special Olympics Bowling tournament in Juneau is seeking volunteers. Bowling takes place on Sundays between noon until 2:00 p.m. in the Pinz Bowling Alley. The bowling season started on the 20th of August and will end on the 15th of October. The local tournaments are scheduled for October 21 and 22 that will allow teams and individuals to qualify to play in the state tournament in Anchorage in November. It is necessary to recruit volunteers help the bowlers as Ramp Assistants, or in the role of Lane Monitors. No experience in bowling is required.
