Neilga Taija Revels was robbed of a lot of her belongings last month , but the most shocking theft was her grandmother’s regalia .
Anthony Perry, a Juneau man, was arrested this week for burglary. However, the items remain missing. Revels claims the regalia is an important part of Hoonah’s history, and one of the few items she left behind from her grandmother.
Erann Kalwara, Juneau Police Department Public Security Manager, said that the investigation isn’t finished.
She said that span style=”font weight: 400 ;”>” I would say there’s always a chance.” “They are still following up on leads, and still working through .”
Revels stated that she also feels hope. She attributes a lot of this to the support she has received from Juneau residents and investigators.
Revels stated that he was humbled by the care and effort people have put into this project. It helps me believe and keep hopeful that the regalia will be returned .”
Perry was also taken into police custody for an early December break-in at a local company. Perry was also charged with seven counts of burglary and theft in connection to the break-ins. Additional charges were added to his arrest.
Perry is currently held at Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
Jan. 12 is the date for a preliminary hearing.
