The following day, Juneau the police detained Mitchell Watley in connection to notes distributed around town that criticized the transgender community. They also “contained an alleged threat to children.”

At the time of Watley’s arraignment Monday The assistant district attorney Rexene Finley said Watley put Juneau residents in danger.
“He left them in areas where people go to shop with their children,” she said.
She claimed she was intimidated by him and parents of children attending schools.
“Mr. Watley was threatening to kill the most vulnerable of our populations,” Finley said.
The judge issued a cash bail of $10,000 for Watley and demanded that he surrender all firearms and not be present at parks and schools during Juneau as conditions for his the release of Lemon Creek Correctional Center, which is where he’s been until his detention.
An initial hearing on the case is scheduled to take place on April 11.
