AR-VR Tour on Treadwell Historic Trail

A walking tour in augmented reality on the Treadwell Historic Trail. The tour is led by a guide and a spoken narrative telling the tale of the mine as well as the town’s history from 1880 to 1917 Visitors will experience 11 Augmented Reality “stories” that reveal the entirety of Treadwell. Treadwell community. There’s the 500′ scale model of the wharf that was built in 1880 as well as a 198′ model from an exact replica of City of Topeka steamship (known to have visited Treadwell at the turn century) as well as numerous chances to engage with historical, accurate equipment from the turn of the century.

Juneau Public Library – Zetta Elliott
- Playwright, author, educator poet and educator Zetta Elliott will be in Juneau in the first week of June to participate in Library’s Summer Reading Program. Zetta writes for everyone, which includes poetry, chapter books picture books, Young adult fiction. She’ll give an interview with her author at Mendenhall Valley Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on June 6.
