The newscast in this show:
- A landslide fell on Zimovia Highway in Wrangell one week back, leaving four people dead and two people missing. The debris effectively split Wrangell into two. The north side of the slide there’s a town. South of it, a minimum of 70 residents were shut off from power Internet, their internet connection and their main road. Since the slide one man’s retirement savings turned into a lifeline for these families.
- Drag queens from all over Alaska competed for crown as Miss Gay Alaska America recently. The winner is Lamia Insomnia Lexicon Doom Monroe who plays the character from Anchorage, home of Robin O’Donoghue. Monroe spoke to the KTOO’s Adelyn Baxter on the contest, her connection to Juneau and her preparation to participate in the Miss Gay America national competition. Miss Gay America competition
