49 Writers is an Alaskan literary group that invited Joanna Castle Miller, a playwright and satirist, to teach a 4-week course series. Her curriculum is intended to assist writers in creating sharp and funny satire. Miller’s award winning work has been published in everything from McSweeneys to Funny or Die. Her class will equip writers with the skills and confidence to submit short-form satirical pieces to places such as The Onion. Sheli DeLaney, Juneau Afternoon host, will talk with Joanna Castle Miller today about her humor, literary style and favorite bourbon.
Today’s show will also feature information about the Gallery Walk this weekend. Mary McEwen will talk about her new exhibit at the city’s museum, while Rainforest Yoga will share details of their next workshop.
