Mary Irvine and Jonas Lamb in Studio 2K at KTOO (Bostin Christopher/KTOO)

September 30, 2023″The Full Episode”

The Alaska Heritage Emergency Network (AHEN) was created to help build and strengthen the Alaskan Cultural Heritage community’s capability as well as relationships and resources to be prepared for and recover from the aftermath of emergencies. AHEN was developed as an initiative by The Alaska State Museums, cultural organisations of Alaska and The Alaska Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHS&EM) in order to provide a place that allows analysis and sharing of information can be facilitated.

The group has started an online listserv and is seeking for arts and cultural organizations as well as emergency management responders from all levels in Alaska to participate for free cost. It is expected that the AHEN Network will expand as time passes and will remain connected through an online listserv that will regularly host talks, training exercises and post-disaster support. For more information on how to participate, or to subscribe to the Network listserv, subscribe online at https://list.state.ak.us/mailman/listinfo/AHEN or send an email to: mary.irvine@alaska.gov
