PIMA COUNTY (Ariz.) — A Pima County Sheriff’s Department captured an inmate who fled custody Wednesday afternoon.

According to Deputy Melissa Hernandez (public information officer for the department), the inmate identified as Khalid Rahman “walked out from the jail after corrections officers mistook him with another inmate of similar physical characteristics.”

The “mistaken delivery” occurred on Nov. 21 around 4:30 PM at the Pima County Adult Detention Complex at 1270 West Silverlake Road. Hernandez said that corrections officers summoned Rahman, a second prisoner, to release him after he appeared in court.

Detectives arrested Rahman in Pima County on Nov. 28.
