The optical sensors could be the cause of problems with garage doors

Q: I’m having an issue in the garage door opener. If I press the button, the door goes up without a problem. But, when I press the button to cause the door to lower it lowers about one foot before going back up. If I push the button down the door will then close. I’m hoping this won’t be an expensive fix.
